Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) October 24, 2011
VCAD is excited to launch two new diploma programs this winter Mobile Game Design & Development and Game Development & Design. The programs come in response to increased demand for well-trained video game developers in British Columbia.
Over the last number of years, BC has become a mecca for video game developers. Companies like EA, Radical and Ubisoft all maintain offices in Vancouver, working on products that range from big-budget sports games to addictive mobile games for the latest smartphones. The new programs at VCAD will train students to enter this exciting and lucrative field with the skills that employers like these demand.
VCAD grads have been impressing employers in the art and design world for years. These new programs will now bring VCADs specialized training to those interested in entering the game development industry, says Bohdan Bilan, VP of Academics. With a number of game development companies calling Vancouver home, this is the perfect time to start training for a career in this dynamic field.
The curriculum of these programs includes a wide range of design, animation, modeling and drawing subjects. Taught by industry-experienced instructors, students will incorporate skills and knowledge of lighting, texturing, color theory and design within their work, building a professional portfolio to present to employers upon graduation.
VCAD is currently accepting applications for both the Mobile Game Design & Development and the Game Development & Design programs. Those interested in applying are encouraged to call 1-800-370-6136 or apply online.
