1951 – Sir William Campion, Governor of Western Australia (b. 1870)
British politician and Governor of Western Australia from 1924 to 1931.
Born in England in 1870, he was educated at Eton and Oxford University, and was the Conservative MP for Lewes between 1910 and 1924, when he was knighted and given the governorship of Western Australia.

Campion was commissioned into the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment in 1888. He served in the First World War, reaching the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1915, and being awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1918.

2007 – Sergio Jiménez, Mexican actor (b. 1937)
Mexican actor who became famous after portraying the character of El Gato in the film Los caifanes. His last work was directing the telenovela La fea más bella. Sergio worked too in his own “actor’s studio” that he operated with actress Adriana Barraza (nominated for the oscar as a support actress for Babel). Because of this a lot of Mexican actors called him: “El Profe” (the teacher). He was born in Mexico City.

Portuguese supercentenarian who was the world’s oldest verified living person for 37 days, until her death at 115 years and 114 days. She assumed this status after the 26 November 2008 death of American Edna Parker, who was 115 years and 220 days old. She was the only verified person born in 1893 to live into 2009, achieving this by a mere 2 days.
